We promote access and enjoyment of the outdoors.
We advise others about what’s best for our natural heritage.
We fund some activities of land managers, communities and voluntary bodies.
We regulate and advise on activities that can affect special places and protected species.
We undertake research to improve our collective knowledge and understanding of nature and landscapes in Scotland.
SNH is responsible to and funded by the Scottish Government.
